San Jose

Long but shallow, this Silver Creek Valley backyard in San Jose did not function well. The existing bbq was inadequate and ill placed, the patio was fragmented and the lawn was disproportionately large and wasteful. The owner wanted a large spa as their water feature. We suggested an alternate concept – a pool/spa combo and they got on board with the idea. To maximize space the pool was set on the rear setback line. To create a rhythmic, unifying theme a stone wall and pilasters were designed for the back of the pool to support planted urns. The existing shade structure was kept and reworked. The new BBQ allows for an expanded flagstone patio and now the lawn balances the far end of the pool.
